We have previously mentioned Triple-Major's concept store in Beijing, which stocks progressive designers like Fabrics Interseason and Daniel Palillo. In collaboration with ilivetomorrow gallery, they just opened a new store in Hong Kong called "Signed-by." It is located on 43 Tung Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

Signed-by proposes an unique experience in art, design, fashion, music, video and other creative mediums. It stocks experimental and innovative designs from labels like Droog Design, Molo Design and Jaime Hayon.

The concept store's fashion section is called "Triple-Major Habitat." Just like Triple-Major's store in Beijing, "Triple-Major Habitat" offers avant-garde fashion designers from around the world as well as Triple-Major's in house label. "Triple-Major Habitat" is a continuation of their nomad store project at ilivetomorrow last November. The concept of the nomad store project is to open short-term sporadic stores around the world like nomads; "Triple-Major Habitat" is symbolically where the nomads settle down.

Concept store and avant-garde label, Triple-Major, recently presented the solo exhibition of Woog in their store in Beijing. Titled “DI DAH DIT DI DI DAH,” Shanghai based artist Woog remixes UK based artist Stephen Smith’s “More with Less”. Through digital prints and videos, Woog explores and captures the displacement of medium, images, language, sound and as a result creating a completely new vernacular.

Using prints from Woog, Triple-Major also launched the Woog x Triple-Major Digital Print Series in T-shirts and bags. If you are interested in ordering one of the t-shrits, simply email triplemajorinfo@gmail.com or visit their facebook page. They are $55 USD or up each.

At the exhibition last night, Triple-Major also took a few snap shots of their guests:

Triple-Major is a creative studio based in Beijing aiming to reinvent classic notions of fashion. "Triple-Major World," the first issue of Triple-Major's house line finds inspiration from video games, food, grammar and other typically disregarded motifs from everyday life. The collection, as well as all of Triple-Major's efforts, is a collaborative effort of friends from Beijing, New York and Los Angeles. It will be presented in March at Paris Fashion Week for AW 2011.

A new post from our Beijing Correspondent, Ritchie Chan of Triple Major -
Going to flea markets is quite a common weekend activity in L.A. Even though Beijing doesn't have anything like the Rose Bowl, locals find good ways to fit their thrifting needs.

Every weekend, Guanxin Market, located on Huagonlu in Beijing, turns into a flea market, attracting a mix of locals, vintage shoppers and foreigners. Originally set up for the lower-income locals, the market, which is located beyond the forth ring in Beijing had been quite popular among young thrifting and vintage lovers due to its relatively big size and cheap price.

How cheap? You can find shirts for $1 and watches for $3, and pretty much everything else below $5. But of course, none of these are really vintage pieces, they are more like factory outlet products or used goods.

Young photography duo, Norated, come here almost every weekend to find some old cameras for their shoots.

Not just thrifting, watching the locals in the market is such delight too since some of them have really interesting style. These two gentlemen dress really adventurously in terms of crossing gender boundaries.

An update from our Beijing Correspondent, Ritchie Chan:

New paintings and sculpture by ffiXXed.

The installation on Triple-Major's rooftop showing ffiXXed's AW10 collection.
Founded in Berlin by Aussies Fiona Lau and Kain Picken, art and design group
ffiXXed has travelled far and wide since, re-locating a number of times to gain an international scope. Currently based in Shenzhen, China, ffiXXed creates multimedia work, including a prêt-a-porter fashion label, to frame a wider discussion about the role objects play in the construction of our daily lives.
Triple-Major had the recent pleasure of hosting ffiXXed's work in our Beijing concept store with the exhibition,
everything, everywhere, all the time. Featuring ffiXXed's new works in sculpture, painting and clothing, the exhibition explored the relationships between objects and places in an increasingly global consumer culture.

An advanced version of the traditional Japanese heat table, Kotatsu with Sleeves is a direct response to the notion that fashion is a social forum, where everyone can share and exchange ideas
